· When the old web site was in service, I received regular e mails of job postings. Will the same happen through ther new web site?

What do I ned to do to ensure that this happens?

All job leads will be archived in the Forums section under Job Leads.

You should subscribe to the Job Leads email list. This can be found by first going to My Account and then Mail Preferences. By clicking on Subscribe for Job Leads, you will automatically be sent a reply to your email address that you are registered. (If you do not receive this automatically, check your spam filter.)

Job leads can be created either by sending an email to jobleads@chempharma.net from your email engine, or by creating a New Post while you are in the Job Leads Forum on the chempharma.net site. Only those jobs that are sent from an outside address will be emailed to the subscriber list.

· How do I send e-mails to members as a group

You first need to be a full member of ChemPharma. Full members can send messages to the various e-mail listings by simply addressing the message to, for example, NewJerseyGroup@ChemPharma.net. All members who have signed up to be part of that mailing list will receive your message.
Please be responsible in "blasting" e-mails to the membership at large. In many cases searching the membership directory, and sending targetted e-mails to just those members most likely to be able to help, works much better than a blast.

· I am a first time visitor. I keep being asked for a User Name and Password but I don't have one yet. Do I have to pay? How do I get a password?

Quick answer - Using the website is free! You do have to register first.

1.) Click on the word "Membership" on the opening screen (home page) in the phrase "Welcome visitor. To join ChemPharma please click Membership for more information."
2.) Click on "New User" to register.
or
Click on "Register" on the screen that asks you for your user name and password.

3.) Fill in the form to become a ChemPharma.net User. It's free!
(N.B. This is just the first step towards becoming a full ChemPharma member!)

Please be very precise when entering your User Name. CaPItaLizAtion is critical. Many members have become very frustrated trying to log back in because the site requires that the user name be absolutely identical to the one you first register with.

Your email address is just as critical. All correspondence (reset passwords, meeting notices, etc.) will go to this address. More importantly, several site functions require that you are logged in from that server to work properly.

4.) After you hit the submit button you should see the message: "Your free account is now active. Thank you for registering." Check your e-mail for your password.

You should be able to log in with your user name and this password. If not check the FAQ "I can't seem to log in. What could be wrong?"

· I can't seem to log in. What could be wrong?

The web site uses cookies. Make sure that you have set your browser to allow cookies, at least cookies from ChemPharm.net if you can set that up. Also, make sure you log into ChemPharma.net not ChemPharma.org. Even though you get redirected some people have reported that the cookies don't work if you come in through the old address.

We also heard that AOL's web browser doesn't work very well. If you can use Explorer (or Safari on the Mac) you might have better luck.

The security software is also particularily finicky about lower case and upper case. When asked please be sure to enter both your name and e-mail address exactly as you entered them when you first signed up.

If you have done all that, and still can't log in, Click on the Log in Problems? link below the Login button on the left hand side of the home page. Enter your user name and e-mail address exactly as when you first registered. The e-mail HAS to be the one you registered with.

A new password will be sent to the email address listed above. Try to log in with this password. Again it is important to make sure you enter it exactly as received.

If that doesn't work our system may think your username is different from what you think it is or it may be registered under an old e-mail address. Send an e-mail to INFO@ChemPharma.net with the subject line "I still can't log in." Let us know your user name, full name, and e-mail address. Someone from the web site committee will respond (Please be patient! We are all volunteers!!) to let you know what user name and e-mail address the system thinks you have.

In most cases this has resolved the login problem!

· I met with a recruiter today and told her about ChemPharma and gave her the url. Now I am looking over the site and I see that she can not post jobs directly. I have no issue with the rules, but wonder why recruiters must post via a member.

ChemPharma has historically relied on members to provide introductions to ChemPharma of recruiters, thereby assuring the group that the recruiter is reputable. There is a feature designed into this site to allow recruiters to post. To the best of my knowledge it has not been activated, and is on the Website committee list of "to do's". If I can further clarify the issue, let me know.
